Another Defender signs for Arsenal , Mikel Arteta and his obsession for defenders and goalkeepers continues 😆😆
Some might call it defensive overkill—but Arsenal fans remember Saliba’s injury two seasons ago, when the title slipped away faster than Rob holding trying to track a counterattack.
Even last season, with Gabriel, White, and Calafiori sidelined during the title run, Arsenal’s backline was hanging by a thread .
So a defender is needed, especially a CB therefore, Mosquera was brought in , but what do we know of him huh?
Mosquera's journey began in basketball before transitioning to futsal and eventually to football, In 2016, at age 12, he joined Valencia CF's academy from Hercule's cf (3rd tier in Spanish leagues)
Mosquera made his senior debut for Valencia CF in January 2022 at just 17 years old, becoming the club's youngest centre-back debutant.
He played over whooping 74 games in Laliga over last 2 season's , that tells us he's a key player for valencia and he's injury resistant lol 😆 Primarily a centre-back he can also play in Rb , Rcb, Lcb positions offering flexibility
He's in 93rd percentile for dribblers tackled i.e 1v1 tackles , that tells us he's quite good in 1v1 defending and defending wide channels Progressive carries stat looked interesting to me as he is in 79th percentile , which may be overloaded by him playing as fullback , nonetheless that's a good trait that he can carry the ball from defense Pass completion he's in 80th percentile , which for a Cb / Fb should be in 90th percentile , that needs working for ball heavy team like arsenal Surprisingly for a 6.2ft guy he's very low in % of Aerials won and Blocks , which tells me reading and positioning should be improved upon here , Nico Jover should take care of that 😆😆
