Zubimendi Joins Gunners....LFG
By Matthew M on Mon Jul 07 2025
After Conflicting reports again and again by Madrid Influenced based media in Spain that Zubimendi was waiting for Xabi Alonso to call and Operation Zubi on papers .. all that BS is put to an end !!!
Looks like Arsenal have been working on this deal for over a year, so all that work has paid off .
Arsenal now have One of the best No6 in the world , more dynamic , more progressive , better tempo setter and as good defensively as Partey.
We all watched that 2nd half vs England in Euros final , that's where i think most of the football fans were caught off the guard by him , spain didn't miss rodri , Zubimendi just dominated and put on a masterclass
Let's delve into some stats and data shall we...

Defensively for a No6 he's in 90+ percentile for Aerials won and Clearances Blocks and Interceptions he's in 70+ , which is average-ish interceptions for a No6 He's in 55 + percentile for tackles , which is Low If you watched him playing you would know he's not this Defensive tackler - imposing player like a fernandinho or fabinho type He's more of a Tempo setter , ball cycler , progressor like a more athletic and dynamic Jorginho profile Progressive passes he's in 70 percentile Pass Completion % is 84 % in 50 percentile , which in context 87 % puts you in 70+ percentile , again Sociedad are more direct in play hence why low completion but high in Progression For me Eye test / watching games comes above stats , Stats are to help understand some context but not to entirely relied upon In a Ball heavy team and Arteta's system his Completion % and passing % would become higher Where he should improve is his off the ball stuff and adjust to the Pace and Physicality of the league city / liverpool / barcelona / madrid all of these were interested in him over last 2 years acc.to multiple reports , but he choose Arsenal We Welcome Zubi to Arsenal 🔴⚪
